Flaherty & Hood’s legislative team recently staffed the 2017 Coalition of Greater Minnesota Cities Summer Conference. More than 100 elected officials, city staff members and other city leaders from 50 Greater Minnesota cities convened in Fergus Falls, Minn. on Aug. 2-4 for informative sessions, educational tours, and fun community activities.
The conference featured excellent presentations and panel discussions on the topics such as the Minnesota’s fiscal health, the future of manufacturing and industry, arts in rural communities, how to work with the media, legislative issues, and more. Attendees also learned about the city of Fergus Falls through a city-hosted tour of the city’s historic downtown, the Prairie Wetlands Learning Center, Lake Alice and other area businesses and attractions.
One of the highlights of the conference was Thursday evening’s Legislative Awards Dinner which honored 26 legislators, city leaders and others who helped promote CGMC issues during the past year.
