The Flaherty & Hood lobbying team coordinated the Coalition of Greater Minnesota Cities’ (CGMC) annual Legislative Action Day on March 16. A record turnout of 120 city administrators, elected officials and business leaders from across the state attended the event, which was held at the Flaherty & Hood offices in St. Paul.

The day began with a meeting in which Flaherty & Hood staff provided updates on the top legislative priorities for Greater Minnesota communities and gave tips on how to successfully lobby at the Capitol. The meeting was followed by a lunch with Senate Majority Leader Tom Bakk (DFL-Cook) as the guest speaker. Staff members then accompanied CGMC members as they spent the afternoon meeting with legislators at the Capitol and urging them to support CGMC proposals on LGA, workforce housing, bonding and other issues.

The event was capped off with a legislative reception and dinner at Mancini’s that evening, where a bipartisan mix of legislators representing both rural and urban districts mingled with staff members and city officials.
