With cities examining their budgets line-by-line for efficiencies, the Coalition of Greater Minnesota Cities’ (CGMC) Labor and Employee Relations Committee will hold seminars May 27 in New Ulm and June 10 in Park Rapids to discuss practical solutions for reducing labor- and employee-related costs. Flaherty & Hood attorneys Chris Hood, Brandon Fitzsimmons, Robert Scott, and Tim Flaherty will participate as speakers. Seminar topics include using seasonal, temporary, and other non-regular employees; contracting services; evaluating employee performance; handling personnel data; dealing with employees and unions in tough times; and discussing new legislation that impacts local governments. City officials who are not CGMC members are welcome to attend the seminars. Registration materials are available at www.greatermncities.org.
