Flaherty & Hood’s legislative team recently staffed the 2016 Coalition of Greater Minnesota Cities Summer Conference. Nearly 100 representatives from nearly 40 Greater Minnesota cities convened in Austin, Minn. on July 20-22  for informative sessions, educational tours, and fun community activities.

The conference featured excellent presentations and panel discussions on the topics such as the 2016 legislative session, water quality regulations, transportation and racial and economic disparities in Greater Minnesota communities. Attendees also learned about the city of Austin through a city-hosted tour of the SPAM Museum and dinner at the Austin ArtWorks Center, as well as tours of the Hormel Institute (a state-of-the-art cancer research facility), Hormel Plant, Austin Utilities Energy Park and other area businesses and attractions.

One of the highlights of the conference was Thursday evening’s Legislative Awards Dinner which honored 25 legislators, city leaders and others who helped promote CGMC issues during the past year.

Flaherty & Hood thanks all of the CGMC members who joined us in Austin!
