Flaherty & Hood lobbyists Bradley Peterson and Dan Dorman traveled to Bemidji last week to film two episodes of Lakeland Currents, the weekly half-hour public affairs program that airs on Lakeland Public Television.

As executive director of the Coalition of Greater Minnesota Cities, Peterson joined Bemidji City Manager Nate Mathews to film an episode devoted to the topic of Local Government Aid (LGA). Peterson talked about the importance of the LGA program and why the CGMC is fighting for an LGA increase this legislative session.

Dorman, who serves as executive director of the Greater Minnesota Partnership, then filmed a separate episode on the issue of workforce housing. He was joined by Tim Flathers, executive director of the Headwaters Regional Development Commission. They discussed the need for more middle-income workforce housing in many Greater Minnesota communities and current proposals at the Legislature that aim to encourage the development of more housing in growing communities.

The episodes are slated to air later this spring.
