Associate Attorney

Khaleel Qandeel is an Associate Attorney at Flaherty & Hood and practices primarily labor and employment law, serving cities throughout Minnesota.

Khaleel has experience in insurance defense focused on medical malpractice, general liability, premises liability, commercial matters, and employment matters. He has also worked in the transactional space, assisting international clients with compliance, data privacy/regulation, advertising law, and internet law.

Prior to joining the firm in 2023, Khaleel held multiple roles in the City of Chicago for the Office of the Mayor, the Department of Law, and the Department of Public Health, with work in areas such as data privacy/compliance, administrative appeals, COVID response, and municipal public policy. In addition, he has handled mediation matters in a variety of practice areas, was involved in the Immigration Law Clinic as a certified student attorney, and previously worked as an analyst for a large international bank in Minneapolis.

Khaleel received his law degree from the University of Illinois College of Law, graduating cum laude. During his education, he founded and served as President of the Muslim Law Students Association and was an Elected Student Representative for the Faculty Diversity Committee. Khaleel attended the University of Minnesota for his B.A., earning a degree in Global Studies, Philosophy, and History, and is a certified mediator.

Khaleel was raised in Edina, MN, but spent his early professional years in Chicago, IL, before returning to his home state. Some fun facts about Khaleel are that he is an avid cyclist, speaks Arabic, and has visited about 30 countries with plans to add more to his list.
