Media & Communications Associate
As the Media and Communications Associate for Flaherty & Hood, Alex Wildfang leads the development and implementation of communications strategies for the firm and its clients, including media outreach and content creation. She researches, writes, and edits materials such as press releases, social media posts, newsletters, and legislative policy briefs. Her role also entails supporting the work of the government relations team at the Minnesota Capitol and directing the planning, promotion, and execution of client events.
Whether maintaining relationships with media outlets or building new ones with elected officials, Alex relishes every opportunity to connect with others. As a professional, she is driven by her resolve to facilitate dynamic communication in a world of complex issues. In her position, Alex seeks to achieve client objectives by promoting strategies and conversations that both inform and advocate.
Prior to joining Flaherty & Hood, Alex interned at the law firm of Robins Kaplan LLP before studying Political Science and International Relations at Florida International University, where she graduated summa cum laude. When she wasn’t occupied with her studies, Alex spent her free time enjoying the many activities and experiences that the diverse culture of Miami provided.
Alex grew up in Eden Prairie and returned to Minnesota after living outside the state for almost eight years. When she’s not busy coordinating press conferences or drafting media statements, she spends her time watching movies, traveling, and playing trivia games with her husband, Christian. She also enjoys cooking, classic films, and crossword puzzles.
