Law Clerk
Clare Palen is a Law Clerk at Flaherty & Hood who supports the firm’s municipal practice by conducting legal research, document review and analysis. Clare also assists the firm’s attorneys in preparing for trials, hearings, and other court proceedings.
Prior to joining the firm in 2025, Clare worked as a Municipal Services Intern at Stantec, Inc., where she collected data from cities across southeast Minnesota and identified compliance patterns to assist supervisors in providing actionable advice. Clare also spent time serving as a Judicial Intern for Eau Claire County and a Law Clerk at Wings Financial Credit Union, gaining experience in performing extensive legal research and drafting memoranda.
Clare is currently seeking her law degree from the University of St. Thomas School of Law after earning her Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Economics at the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire. She is passionate about being active in her community and is a participant in the Minnesota Justice Foundation’s Street Law program.
Clare grew up in Rochester, MN, and when not in the office, enjoys spending time at her family’s cabin, reading books, and playing tennis and pickleball.
