Shareholder Attorney

Daniel Marx joined Flaherty & Hood P.A. in 2015 and practices environmental law, administrative law and works with the firm’s government relations team to advocate for clients before the state legislature and administrative agencies on environmental and regulatory matters.

Daniel focuses his practice on representing local governments and businesses on a range of environmental legal and regulatory matters, with special expertise solving complex Clean Water Act regulatory and permitting issues. He enjoys working with clients, technical experts and Flaherty & Hood’s team of attorneys and lobbyists to develop and implement innovative and cost-effective legal, regulatory, and legislative solutions to complex environmental problems. He loves building coalitions for the purpose of strategic and collective advocacy to solve intractable environmental, regulatory and policy problems. While Daniel prefers to use creative and collaborative problem solving, he also has significant experience in administrative and appellate litigation.

Prior to joining Flaherty & Hood, Daniel worked in private practice and in both the St. Paul City Attorney’s Office and the Ramsey County Attorney’s Office.

Daniel lives in St. Paul with his wife Naomi and two sons. When he is not busy problem-solving for clients, he enjoys exploring the wilderness and traveling with his family, playing basketball, stealing some quiet time, and volunteering with organizations providing direct services to individuals on the margins and acting in the areas of criminal justice reform and racial and economic justice.
