Flaherty & Hood shareholder attorney Brandon Fitzsimmons and associate attorney Erica Heikel led two labor and employee relations for the Coalition of Greater Minnesota Cities (CGMC). The seminars focused on practical and legal solutions for providing services and managing employees in local government. Covered topics included how to understand a fire department’s unique organizational and personnel issues; how to organize and communicate personnel data the right way; mock negotiations; and updates on health insurance issues, settlements, interest arbitration and relevant legislation.
More than 60 city and county managers, administrators, city staff members and elected officials attended the seminars in Albert Lea on June 7 and Detroit Lakes on June 14.
