Flaherty & Hood is pleased to welcome attorney Gretel Lee as the newest member of its legal team!

As an associate attorney in the firm’s St. Paul office, Lee focuses her practice on environmental issues impacting communities throughout Minnesota and assisting these communities with regulatory compliance.

Originally from Duluth, Minn., Lee was immersed in environmental issues during her formative years. This helped create for her a critical understanding of the delicate balance to be achieved between livelihoods and commerce generated by the use of natural resources, and the implications of using these resources in responsible, sustainable, and affordable ways. Throughout law school, she worked in a variety of public interest and public representation positions. Prior to joining Flaherty & Hood, she was the Legal Fellow for the Minnesota Center for Environmental Advocacy, a position funded by the Robina Institute.

Lee graduated from the University of Minnesota Law School in 2017 with a concentration in Environmental and Energy Law. She has published multiple scholarly articles on various environmental issues and has presented on environmental law and policy at legal symposia. She earned her B.S. from the University of Minnesota in Environmental Science, Policy, and Management in 2014.  She is licensed to practice law in Minnesota (2017).
