We are pleased to welcome Brooke Hein to the Flaherty & Hood team!

Brooke Hein is an associate attorney and represents Greater Minnesota municipalities on municipal law and labor and employment matters. Her practice includes issues related to land use and development, employment, administrative, litigation, general counsel, municipal, and real estate matters.

Before joining Flaherty & Hood, Brooke worked in private practice and served as the judicial law clerk for the Honorable Ellen L. Maas in Washington County. She also worked as a certified student attorney for the Washington County Attorney’s Office, as well as a government relations and public policy intern for a private insurance company. Through her experience, she has gained exposure to a variety of legal issues and developed a skill set for working with and alongside government entities.

Brooke graduated from Mitchell Hamline School of Law. During law school, she served as family law director of the Mitchell Hamline Self-Help Clinic and president of the Minnesota Justice Foundation Student Chapter. Brooke was symposium editor of the Mitchell Hamline Journal of Public Policy & Practice, where she spearheaded the Future of Healthcare Reform Symposium. She was awarded the Minnesota Justice Foundation Law Student Volunteer Award for her efforts and received a Public Service Certificate for her more than 500 volunteer hours. Brooke was also awarded the CALI Excellence for the Future Award for the General Practice Skills Practicum course.

Brooke grew up in Rush City and now resides in Saint Paul with her partner. In her free time, Brooke enjoys the outdoors, traveling, listening to true crime podcasts, and spending time with friends and family.
