Flaherty & Hood staffed the Coalition of Greater Minnesota Cities’ Fall Conference, Nov. 14-16 at Arrowwood Resort and Conference Center in Alexandria. This conference featured many high-profile speakers and policy discussions.
Secretary of State Mark Ritchie delivered a keynote address on Minnesota’s voter turnout in the 2012 election and how results emphasized the role and importance of the state’s constitution. Steven J. Rosenstone, Chancellor of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system (pictured right) discussed MnSCU’s role in preparing Minnesota’s workforce and its commitment to Greater Minnesota cities. State Senator-elect Kent Eken detailed his experiences in running in a very competitive race.
Flaherty & Hood staff led other conference sessions, including an analysis of the 2012 election, discussion of LGA formula reforms, and efforts to promote economic development in Greater Minnesota.
