Flaherty & Hood’s legislative team recently staffed the 2018 Coalition of Greater Minnesota Cities Summer Conference. Nearly 100 elected officials, city staff members and other city leaders from 50 Greater Minnesota cities convened in Mankato on July 25-27 for informative sessions, educational tours, and fun community activities.

The conference featured excellent presentations and panel discussions on the topics such as the economic development, child care, agriculture’s role in protecting water quality, labor and employee relations, the upcoming elections, and more. Attendees also learned about the cities of Mankato, North Mankato and St. Peter — all of which co-hosted the event — through tours of attractions and amenities such as Mankato’s CityArt Walk, St. Peter’s historic downtown and new projects and facilities popping up in all three cities.

One of the highlights of the conference was Thursday evening’s Legislative Awards Dinner which honored 23 legislators, city leaders and others who helped promote CGMC issues during the past year. In addition, the CGMC, as led by Flaherty & Hood staff, co-hosted a gubernatorial candidate forum on Thursday night.

Flaherty & Hood thanks all of the CGMC members who joined us in Mankato!
