Senior Attorney/Lobbyist J.D. Burton recently helped secure a key transportation victory for the Highway 14 Partnership when Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton announced over $20 million for the four-lane expansion of Highway 14 in southern Minnesota between North Mankato and Nicollet. J.D. designed the Highway 14 Partnership’s legislative and media strategy last January with an emphasis on safety concerns and economic development potential associated with this highway project. The effort led to a Senate committee hearing on the topic, many local resolutions of support, and over 40 articles and television news stories, including multiple newspaper editorials. The Governor made his announcement in Mankato on June 26.
