A delegation from India visited the Flaherty & Hood offices today to learn about the advocacy and research work the firm does for the Coalition of Greater Minnesota Cities (CGMC) and other clients.

The group of six individuals who work in the areas of public policy, education and research at various organizations across India are visiting the United States for three weeks as part of the International Visitor Leadership Program run by the U.S. State Department, Office of International Visitors and Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.

Flaherty & Hood lobbyists Tim Flaherty and Bradley Peterson, policy analyst Chris Henjum and communications specialist Julie Liew met with the group and explained the purpose and formation of the CGMC, as well as the firm’s multi-faceted approach to lobbying for the organization, which includes direct lobbying at the Legislature, media efforts and conducting own our independent research.

The Indian delegation will be in the Twin Cities for four days to visit several research and policy-oriented organizations. Prior to coming to Minnesota, they met with organizations in New York City and Washington D.C. They will round out their time in the U.S. with a visit to Phoenix later this week.
