F&H provides ‘half-time report’ on Minnesota’s legislative session

On April 9, Flaherty & Hood shareholder attorney/lobbyist Bradley Peterson and senior lobbyists Elizabeth Wefel, Shane Zahrt and Scott McMahon conducted a “Legislative Half-Time Report” webinar. They were assisted by F&H policy analyst Ania McDonnell, media & communications director Julie Liew and communications & government relations associate Kelly Haff.

In the hour-long webinar hosted by the Coalition of Greater Minnesota Cities (an F&H client), the F&H lobbyists updated local government officials on where things stand heading into the final weeks of the legislative session. They explored topics including:

• The various state budget plans floating around at the Legislature
• The impact the influx of federal funding may have on Greater Minnesota priorities and the state’s bottom line
• An update on CGMC priorities including Local Government Aid, child care, housing, water and wastewater infrastructure, PFAS regulations, and transportation
• Actions city leaders can take to help advocate for Greater Minnesota’s needs
